Only when we are renewed in the truth of Scripture and anchored in the hope of Christ will encouragement flow naturally to others. Thankfully, Jesus Christ was not just about truth but also about the hope that is in God through grace. He is full of grace and truth (John 1:14). We need to stop giving superficial platitudes like it’s all good, time heals, and you need to get over it. We need to start praying, speaking the truth in love, and specifically encouraging one another. Instead of giving people empty promises and foolish statements, we are equipped in Christ to give them the truth and hope that rules our own heart, in the person of Jesus Christ.
