Receiving salvation is simple – repent and believe, by faith, in the gospel of Jesus. What it takes to save you is more involved. We can liken it to a simple fish. A fish is a fish. But what makes up that fish? Many parts. If we pulled the fish apart, we can study each element that makes up the whole… the bones, the organs, the muscle, the skin. Not one element is a fish… if we just looked at the bones, we wouldn’t say it is a fish. It isn’t until all the parts of the fish are fitted together that we would call it a fish. Likewise, salvation has parts that fit together. To clarify salvation, we will look at individual parts with the goal of understanding the whole of salvation.
