Church discipline is often a topic that is really hard to talk about so we tend to avoid it, limiting its importance and minimising its proper place and application. This week, we will learn that as tough as church discipline is to administer and apply, it is absolutely necessary for the church and its members to exercise it, for it is meant to be, in its design and function, restorative in nature and applied through a redemptive lens. This by implication points to the necessity of the gospel to be at the very core of the church and the heart of its people.
