JESUS, the Light of Life, has come for us. (Isaiah 9:2)

In Joyful, Joyful, we adore Thee by Maryam Nejad

The Christmas message is so familiar: Virgin Mary, angels and shepherds, Jesus the Savior is born. We run the risk of missing its true meaning. This sermon will tell this same gospel message differently, tracing the Scriptures from the prophecy in Isaiah, its fulfilment in the Gospels, and people’s reactions. To help us examine our own reaction, we will consider the self-deceived Simon The sorcerer in Acts, the self-righteous Pharisees, and conclude with the self-denying apostle Paul in Ephesians 5. The main reframe is this: Jesus has come to be our light; we don’t need to stumble in darkness any longer; if we receive Jesus and live in the light He gives.
