Here is a common problem among all followers of Jesus – we create a Christ (idol) we want to follow instead of following the true Christ. This has serious implications. A wrong view of Messiahship leads to a wrong view of discipleship. What if we took Jesus at his word when he said he would suffer, die, and then rise…and that following him (True Discipleship) requires dying to self that we may find life in Christ. What is that worth to you?
